John Edward, b 1789, son of Joh Edwards of Halifax, attorney; articled to his father 30 Oct 1806 for five years. Practised with his father 1812-1822, and then alone, 1822 - 1841. Offices at 10 Lord Street (1822) 10, High Street (1830-37), d 9 Nov 1841 aged 52, Buried at Holy Trinity Church. Was living in High Street, 1841. He married Sarah (Kershaw?) who died 5 Jan 1835 aged 44, by whom he had(with two daughters who died young) Sarah, born 1812, Ann Kershaw, b 1816, d 11 June 1856 aged 39, Ellen, b 1821, John b 1823 and Henry b 1825
